Annual Parochial Church Meeting Tuesday 18th May 2021 7.30pm

Annual Parochial Church Meeting Tuesday 18th May 2021 7.30pm

We are planning to hold this year’s APCM as a ‘mixed mode’ event – both online and in-person for those who wish to attend and cannot access the meeting in any other way. I am very grateful to Tim Whitehead, headteacher at Kildwick Primary School, for allowing us to hold the meeting in school, which means that we have access both to space for those attending in person and the necessary technology for this. In order to minimize the risk of gathering, I would encourage those who can to attend via Zoom (remember that even if you can’t do video calls, you can access Zoom via the telephone) – the access details will be provided nearer to the time.

It would be helpful to have an idea of the number of people who would like to attend in person so that the school can provide us with a suitably sized room – please, therefore, let me know ASAP if you would like to attend in person.

New nave altar platform. We are hoping to replace the existing platform with a new solid hardwood platform. Exact details (shape, size, etc) need to be carefully considered; if you would like to be part of a small working group to do this please speak with Robin or Lesley Hudson.

Repair of the church porch roof. The PCC has applied for a faculty for the repair of the porch roof using terne-coated stainless steel. The DAC has recommended the application for approval. The 28-day public consultation period has now ended and the paperwork has been submitted to the Chancellor for consideration.

Pattern of Services – Winter Routine. The Sunday 8.15am Eucharist is now taking place in the Parish Rooms. The Sunday 10am Eucharist, Patronal Festival Eucharist, Advent Carol Service and Christmas Carol Service and other special Christmas services will take place in the church.

Reordering of the central area of the church

Reordering of the central area of the church.  Good news! We have received the Chancellor’s Judgement and he has approved all parts of the proposed reordering scheme except the removal of the 8 rows of pews at the east end of the south aisle. We have asked our architect to prepare the tender document in order to seek quotes for the work.

Regular Events

Reordering of the central area of the church

Reordering of the central area of the church.  The 28 day period for the display of the Public Notice ended on 17th January.  As at this weekend we have not been notified by the Registry of any letters of objection.  Should this be the case the faculty application should be considered by the Diocesan Chancellor in the coming weeks.  All the relevant documents pertaining to the application are on display in the south aisle.
